The secretary of the Democratic Party Elly Schlein is deciding in recent days whether to make a change which will certainly cause her some backlash even within the Democratic Party. Last night, interviewed by Corrado Formigli on “Piazza Pulita”, broadcast on “La7”, the leader of the Democratic Party had very harsh words about Rai. Or, rather, what you consider to be a “military occupation” of Viale Mazzini by the Meloni government. “Rai – underlined Schlein – is no longer a public service and I stand in solidarity with the strike of its journalists”. The secretary of the Democratic Party went further: “Rai must be profoundly reformed and the center-left was wrong in not making it independent from parties and politics. Let’s do this reform, the Democratic Party is there.
But the Dem leader does not place much reliance on the majority’s willingness to push forward a reform of public television. In just over a month the board of directors of Viale Mazzini will be renewed and the election of the news directors has already begun. The Democratic Party looks with suspicion at Giuseppe Conte’s moves and the Democrats are convinced that the rumors according to which the next director of Tg3 will be a journalist close to the 5 stars are not that far from the truth. And for this reason, to mark a difference with other political forces and to demonstrate that his words on the need to reform Rai are not propaganda, that Schlein is considering not nominating any member of the Democratic Party for the new Board of Directors. A way to demonstrate that “the Democratic Party no longer wants to have anything to do with the housing development”.
