TO Marriage at first sight Fabio Rossi he was always of few words. Both when you met Ilaria Zanoli for the first time at the altar and at final confrontation, when he was the protagonist of a harsh clash for not having told his wife from the beginning what he had instead declared in the confessionals broadcast on Real Time: he never felt an attraction to her on a physical level. Despite this, Fabio tried to make things work but he was never able to take that extra step to ensure the couple’s survival. What feeling did you feel when you revisited your journey on television?
«It was truly a strong emotion, at times fun but above all constructive. I saw myself in my defects and understood where I need to improve in terms of character and where I made a mistake with Ilaria. When we see each other again, everything comes out.”
There was a moment of Marriage at first sight where he said he could have done something different?
«Yes, more than once. Especially in the moments when we were in confrontation. There I could have told her the real reason why I was cold but then and there, so as not to hurt her, I decided to always keep it to myself.”
Was there ever a moment when you thought that you could build something with Ilaria?
«Honestly no. We had many things in common on a character level – I’ve always said this – but at the same time there were many other little things that conflicted without finding a meeting point. These are things that have always emerged when we were not filmed.”
The last time you heard from Ilaria?
«About a month ago, for the final divorce paperwork».
The confrontation with Ilaria in the very last episode was very strong: is that why, at the time, he was unable to answer her?
«It didn’t go exactly as you saw: my reaction was very different, and I held back too much so as not to exaggerate towards Ilaria. His story was exaggerated and fabricated on my behalf. And here I stop.”
Is he seeing anyone now?
«I met a girl through friends and after a few months of dating we moved in together without thinking too much. To this day I really get along very well with her in everything.”

«I am very happy for Giuseppe and Ilaria, they both did a wonderful journey and at the right times. I truly wish them to live peacefully and happily, without cushions to divide them.”
What do you hope for your future?
«To travel a lot with my partner and visit new places around the world. And then there is still a great desire for marriage and family.”
