On Tuesday 9 April, during the fifth edition of AI WEEK, Rai Cinema will receive the prestigious “John McCarthy” Award in Rimini in recognition of its commitment to innovation in the cinematographic field through the use of Artificial Intelligence. The award will be collected by Carlo Rodomonti, head of strategic & digital marketing at Rai Cinema. This recognition demonstrates the company’s commitment to promoting experimentation and innovation in the audiovisual industry, using Artificial Intelligence as a tool to unleash creativity and amplify cinematic stories and narratives. John McCarthy, the American computer scientist who invented the term “artificial intelligence” in 1955, inspired the name of the award which aims to highlight the commitment of managers, entrepreneurs and professionals who have virtuously applied Artificial Intelligence in their activities. At the Palacongressi in Rimini Rai Cinema will also present “Cassandra”, the first short film created by human and artificial intelligence, directed by Demetra Birtone and produced by Scuola Holden with Rai Cinema. “Cassandra” is the result of an innovative creative process created under the guidance of Riccardo Milanesi of Holden.ai Storylab, the laboratory and observatory on Artificial Intelligence of the Holden School born thanks to the partnership of Rai Cinema and the Transmedia Lab of the University of Rome La Sapienza.
