A Porsche 911 hit a minivan head-on on the Amalfi Coast: the sports car caught fire after the impact, the drivers were unhurt.

A vintage Porsche 911 was completely destroyed in an accident that took place today, May 13, on the provincial road between Chiunzi and Ravello, in Passo, on the Amalfi Coast, in the Salerno area: the sports car collided with a Mercedes Viano traveling in the opposite direction and caught fire . The drivers were unharmed, who quickly got out of the cockpits immediately after the impact.
The accident around 13.30,. According to the first reconstructions, the driver of the Porsche, who was reportedly reaching a vintage car meeting in Ravello, he would have lost control of the vehicle after a curve; the wheels would have lost grip with the asphalt probably due to the conditions of the road surface, made slippery by the rain, and probably due to the excessively high speed. The driver would therefore have invaded the opposite lane and would not have been able to avoid the minivan, hired and coming from Naples, which at that moment was arriving from the opposite direction.
After the impact, the Porsche spun and stopped sideways to the roadway and in a few moments the fire broke out: the flames developed in the engine compartment, probably due to the damage sustained in the collision, and quickly spread to whole car, devouring it. For the two drivers only a lot of fear, but no consequences: immediately after the accident they had moved away from the vehicles. With the two cars stopped on the roadway, traffic understandably went haywire; traffic gradually returned to normal only when it was possible to remove them and restore the road section.
