Firenze – The first session of the Regional Commission of Inquiry into the flood events in Tuscany on 29 and 30 October and from 2 to 4 November 2023, chaired by Elisa Tozzi (FdI). At the center of the meeting is the definition of the work program during which documents may be acquired and useful hearings carried out for the purposes of the joint final report and any minority reports.

“The commission will define a calendar that is as detailed as possible and shared with all the members – explained the president Elisa Tozzi –. We don’t want to point the finger at anyone, but to carry out all-round in-depth work on important issues: from emergency management during the flood event to the execution of extremely urgent works by the managers of essential services in the Tuscany Region , of reclamation consortia, of civil engineering; from interventions to reduce hydrogeological risk to the topic of refreshments for families and companies; from the focus on civil protection activities to the management of the alert system in Tuscany. Finally, there will be an in-depth look at the activity of the commissioner structure, in particular on the management of government and regional resources and relations with local authorities”. “In addition to the inspections – added Tozzi – we have important hearings planned: we will invite the president of the Region and the competent councilor to the commission, but also mayors, citizens’ committees, representatives of local authorities and economic categories”.
