Sara Altomeni, 42 years old

For an entire morning Sara Altomeni’s made had tried to call her without receiving any answer. After several attempts, the woman went to her house worried and started ringing the doorbell. In that case too she received no answer and so the emergency services were alerted. The 42-year-old was found dead in her bedroom, curled up on the floor in her house clothes. Finding her like this was the woman’s neighbors who helped the elderly mother break down the apartment door. The door to the house was double locked from the inside.

The woman was found dead at 9:00 yesterday, Sunday 30 June, in a condominium on Via Ambrosini, in the San Lazzaro neighborhood. The neighbors alerted 118 and an ambulance arrived that could do nothing but confirm the death of the 42-year-old. Altomeni lived with his pit bull dog Nikita, adopted a few years ago, with the occasional presence of his mother. The Carabinieri intervened on site with the scientific survey workers and the coroner.

A post was published shortly after on social media raising the alarm for another murder in Fano (news that came after the violent death of the Ricci couple), but the hypothesis of another crime immediately gave way to that of illness. Investigators have excluded this line of investigation due to the circumstances of the discovery of the body, such as the locking from the inside of the house on the second floor, the absence of signs of violence on the body and of a fight in the domestic environment. However, an autopsy will be necessary to determine the cause of death. Among the objects found and seized in the bedroom was a syringe.

According to information acquired by the Carabinieri by listening to relatives and neighbors, the victim worked as a bartender in a club, but a month ago he had published an appeal on his Facebook profile to find work. “I am urgently looking for any type of work – he wrote -. Example: bartender, kitchen help, cleaning and various household chores but also in the factory”.

Her passion was animals: she had a decade of experience in grooming dogs and cats. She also offered to be a dog sitter and the Rebel Soul Dog association, from which she had received Nikita, had called her an excellent “adopter”. On social media she had expressed the desire to “go back to being happy as a couple like many months ago”.
