Scalea, June 28, 2024 – Update – The driver of the Fiat 500 involved in the accident which occurred on State Road 18 shortly after midday did not make it. The man, LP, 61 years old, originally from Campania, died in the following hours due to the serious injuries sustained in the collision with a Mercedes. He had tried everything. The collision was violent and the small car was crushed. The accident, as is known, occurred on the border between Scalea and Marcellina, a hamlet of Santa Maria del Cedro, right near the road in La Bruca which divides the two centres. For reasons of investigation, the impact was head-on between the two cars. On site, the intervention of the traffic police, the firefighters and the local police of Scalea and Santa Maria del Cedro to regulate the traffic on the two sides. The transit of vehicles was blocked for rescue operations.
