A 60-year-old man loses control of his motorbike and dies

Another dead on the roads of Trentino, another motorcyclist who lost his life. This time it is a 61-year-old man, a German citizen from Munich. The terrible accident occurred yesterday afternoon shortly before 4pm in Sover, in the Piscine area, on provincial road 71. A trait particularly known in the news, where over the years there have been many fatal accidents in cars but also, and above all, on motorbikes. Just the day before the fatal collision in which the sixty-one-year-old lost his life, another 45-year-old centaur from Trentino was involved in a collision with a car, and was then transported to hospital in serious condition. Yesterday, however, the German did everything alone. No other vehicles were involved in the accident. The tourist was proceeding along the SP 71 when he suddenly lost control of the motorbike, going off the road, crashing into a retaining wall and then falling into the embankment at the side of the road. A strong, fatal impact. The situation immediately appeared critical, the motorcyclist’s friends, who were behind him at the time of the crash, alerted the emergency services. Medical workers were brought to the scene on board the 118 helicopter. When they arrived the man was lying on the asphalt, unconscious. Resuscitation maneuvers were started, but there was nothing that could be done for the German, he died on the spot. The road was temporarily closed yesterday to allow rescue operations and surveys by the Carabinieri of the Cavalese company. The volunteer firefighters of Sover were also in action, in support of the helicopter rescue. The man was transported to the mortuary in the cemetery of the village. “He was a tourist, he was staying at a hotel in Val di Fiemme with his group of friends – says the mayor of Sover Rosalba Sighel – Unfortunately, incidents of this kind always happen on this road. The problem is that everyone goes too fast”. Yesterday was a particularly difficult day for motorcycles and cars in Trentino. In the early hours of the morning in Valfloriana a motorcyclist crashed into a truck, suffering minor injuries. In the afternoon two young people were involved in a road accident against a van in Spiazzo in Val Rendena and in San Michele two cars collided head-on, with 4 people injured but not seriously.
