Ballot results, in Lazio the center-left wins in 6 out of 7 municipalities in the voting

In the Lazio the center-left won 6 of the 7 scheduled ballots. Marco Prendebene won in Civitavecchia, Igino Macchi in Palestrina and Francesco Sposetti in Tarquinia, three municipalities where the centre-left was in opposition. Also happened to Monterotondo, Cassino and Veroli where the Democratic Party already governed. Only the municipality of Tivoli it goes to the centre-right.

Specifically, in Civitavecchia the new mayor Piendibene won with 54.48 percent, supported by the Pd, the Green Alliance and the Left and, in the run-off, also by the 5 Star Movement, which had supported one of its candidates in the first round.

In Palestrina the new mayor Igino Macchi, supported by the Democratic Party and some civic lists, won 58.81 percent. Overwhelming victory for the center-left also in Tarquinia, where Francesco Sposetti became mayor with 70.09 percent against the outgoing Alessandro Giulivi of the center-right.

“A vote which, added to that of two weeks ago, confirms the positive trend and renewed trust on the part of voters towards the Democratic Party and the centre-left forces. Successes which are the fruit of constant commitment and hard work on the field which featured candidates of great value and competence, supported by determined and passionate teams. The trust that the townspeople have placed in us encourages us to continue on this path, continuing to work to build the opposition and return to the national and regional government which fails at the first test before the judgment of the voters”, they comment in a note Daniele Leodorisecretary of the Lazio Democratic Party and Mario Ciarla leader of the Pd group in Pisana.

And according to the mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri“Today’s is an excellent result for the entire centre-left. From this long electoral round emerges a Pd that is the linchpin of the government alternative and a stronger centre-left throughout Italy and also in Lazio, where today it has reconquered Civitavecchia, Palestrina and Tarquinia. A front of good governance is emerging in the cities and of the alternative in the country which today is stronger in the battle against differentiated autonomy and a model of premiership that upsets the balance between the powers of the State enshrined in our Constitution”.
