The morning mass, officiated in the parish of Sant’Agostino by Don Cesare Pisani, saw the participation of the members in“Sacred Heart of Jesus” Men’s Association, led by Michele Depalo, and of the “Apostolate of Prayer”. In the evening, after the evening mass at 6.45pm, in which a representation of theAssociation of Guards of Honor at the Sacred Heart of Jesus of the Sacred Heart of Jesus parish of Molfetta, twinned with Giovinazzo, the procession of the sacred effigy has started.
In addition to the exit with the extraordinary backdrop of a sunset that only the month of June can offer, and the return, with the singing of the Te Deum, other evocative passages took place in the Sant’Agostino neighborhood in via De Gasperi, with the launch of petals and confetti, and in via Sindolfi, where a devotee was remembered.
Then, in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II the procession made its way through the Sunday stroll, “escorted” by two wings of faithful who in their hundreds came.
A celebration that involved the whole city, as has happened for years now and which reinvigorated the devotion of many Giovinazzo residents. It is worth remembering that this celebration will not end with the procession, but will continue on June 29th and 30th with the tasting of panzerotti and the eagerly awaited Eucharistic celebration in the churchyard.
