GROSSETO First the regional title and now the tricolor one. It is turning out to be a season that brings great satisfaction for Maria Acuti of Vc Sovico.
The athlete from Ostiglia, engaged yesterday in Grosseto for the Italian individual time trial championship for students, set a truly exciting seal on her journey in the world of two wheels. She certainly didn’t start out in favor of the predictions, although she was already the Lombard champion of the specialty, she subverted the script by not only taking the tricolor jersey, but also placing her sixth success of the season in her personal bulletin board. Really not bad.
Along the way, Maria was able to interpret the role entrusted to her in the best way. When she reached the finish line, after covering 8,210 km, it was immediately clear that she had placed a serious claim on the top step of the podium. This was thanks to a time of 11’44” and an average speed of 41.950 km/h.
The fiercest opponents were Linda Rapporti, from Millenium Breganze, second at 2″25 from the winner, and Alessia Ballan from Giorgione, daughter of the well-known professional and champion Alessandro, third at 16″55 from Ostiglia.
Now, a tour de force is ready for Acuti which will take her to participate in the road test to be held in Lucca on 6 July. In Tuscany, you will be awarded the tricolor jersey for the road specialty. Before this appointment, however, she will be busy from tomorrow, until Sunday, in the Three Days Valli Giudicarie in Trentino Alto Adige.
