Subsequently Somaschini, who would have turned 10 on July 17, 2024, was admitted to the city hospital, but later passed away. Already at the age of four he had shown a great passion for the world of motors, which is why his father had chosen to give him his first motorbike as a gift for his birthday. Shortly afterwards he started with the first races for his category, also obtaining decent results. He didn’t seem to lack ambition, which is why he always repeated to those who knew him: “My dream is to get to MotoGP, and I would like to become world champion“. Unfortunately, that desire will remain that way forever.

The organizers of the event announced the death in an official note: “All members of the SuperBike Brasil team are shocked by what happened and express sincere condolences to all of Lorenzo’s family and friends.”
