Yesterday was a black Sunday along the Flaminia. From the traffic lights at the municipality of Cantiano there were queues for kilometers up to the former restaurant (where there once was a pond) in the municipality of Cagli. More than one motorist opted to retrace his steps and reverse. In return, the hospitality businesses along the Contessa road were also affected. Some merchants reported the issue to our editorial staff this morning highlighting a double aspect, on the one hand the fact that some reservations were missed and on the other that little was needed to avoid these problems such as allowing traffic to pass through the old municipal road of Cantiano for a day or employing two staff to manage traffic without using the traffic light system as had already been done in the past with the works on the Contessa. The same merchants have issued a warning in light of a summer that now seems well underway, that is, that similar circumstances do not repeat themselves on holiday days which rhyme with very long queues and less income for the activities that have already paid the price for the recent closure of the Contessa state road for eight months.
