It airs this evening at 9.25pm on Italia 1 That’s life, film dated 1998 and directed by Massimo Venier in collaboration with the comic trio, also starring in the film, composed of Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo. The feature film broadcast tonight on TV is undoubtedly part of the productions of the trio’s golden era, along with other films such as Three men and one leg And Ask me if I’m happy. However, it is also the strangest and paradoxical, characterized by a sort of magical realism. Without a doubt, however, That’s life it is the film, among those made by Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo, with the most dangerous shots due to one scene on the road.

So is life, the plot

The film opens with a message aimed at the audience inviting them to consider the events they will see on the big screen as real events, underlining that the film is based on a true story. The protagonist of this “true story” is Aldo (Aldo Baglio), a scammer, who forges credit cards and never misses an opportunity to try to earn money from illicit activities. Even though the man is, deep down, a good-hearted person who doesn’t want to harm a living soul, he finds himself almost forced to take the policeman Giacomo as a hostage (Giacomo Poretti), in order to secure an escape route from his road to detention. Giacomo is certainly not the prototype of the ideal policeman: he doesn’t like weapons, he’s not interested in becoming a hero and he certainly doesn’t seem to have the skills to deal with what to all intents and purposes seems like a kidnapping. While they are fleeing in the police car, Aldo and Giacomo end up crossing Giovanni’s path (Giovanni Storti), an ordinary citizen in trouble who thinks of asking for help from the police and instead finds himself in the role of a hostage. Despite the daring beginning and the different lives they have, the three men will end up making friends along the stages of a journey that seems endless. But in reality there is an even greater challenge waiting for them on the horizon.

The accident on the set

Second feature film brought to the big screen by Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo, That’s life it is, as we said at the beginning of this article, the most “particular” film among those made by the three comedians launched by the television program Never say goal. Although they have not renounced their comic and at times clumsy verve that distinguishes their repertoire, in this film the three, with the screenplay written by Giorgio Gherarducci, Graziano Ferrari and Gino and Michele, played with the public’s expectations. The very fact that the film, at the beginning, is presented as a true story already represents a deception, aimed at distracting the spectator’s attention so that he arrives unprepared for the ending, which presents itself as a real shock scene. And one of the most iconic scenes of That’s life it is precisely the one necessary to explain the ending.

It’s about the chase scene with the police, when Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo are chased by other police cars and even helicopters. A race that pushes them to consider that they have no other choice but to fake their own death, causing their car to fall into a ravine. Having thus misled the police, the three have the opportunity to return to Milan and resume their lives, without imagining that things have changed irreparably starting from that crazy chase and that they will soon have to face something absurd and incomprehensible . Filming this scene was not at all as easy as one might imagine and according to what we read on the website NoiDegliAnni8090, the set risked turning into the theater of a massacre and a tragedy. The scene was filmed in the heart of Abruzzo and everything seemed to be going well when a terrible thing happened accident: one of the two helicopters used for the chase was hit by engine failure and, while trying to complete a dangerous emergency landing, ended up hitting one of the steering wheels thrown at full speed to make the dynamics of the chase credible . Hit violently and suddenly, the car lost control and grip and ended up overturning brutally.

Thankfully, however, not only did the helicopter ultimately make a safe landing, but the actors inside the machine did not suffer any serious or noteworthy injuries. It was truly fortunate, since the dynamics of the accident could have led to the loss of numerous human lives. Below is the complete scene from the film:
