Palio dei Rioni Monticiano: Piazza wins with Salvo Vicino

It was the Piazza district with Except Vicino and the horse Denise Beauty to win the 2014 edition of the Palio di Monticiano.

“It was not easy to find all the horses as the date indicated by the municipality is very close to the Palio of Siena and then the concomitance with the Palio of Castiglion Fiorentino, but with the contribution of our members we managed everything”, states the president of the Osvaldo Costa association.

“Thanks to the owners who are always available and present. I also thank the mayor Alessio Serragli for his contribution. The help of the sponsors was fundamental: Banca Chianti, Mediolanum, Banca Centro, Ugo Scotti, Assicurazioni Generali and MCM service.” The association also donated a plaque to the first place winner at the Castiglion Fiorentino Memorial.

“Yesterday also took place the Memorial for Giuseppe Gentili known as Ciancone in Castiglion Fiorentino, where we were represented by one of our councilors, we thus offered a plaque to the winner. An important beginning of collaboration with the municipality and the Palio committee of Castiglion Fiorentino”.
