The African anticyclone is ready to trigger a new and intense heat wave towards central-southern Italy which will also involve Lazio in the next few days. The weather will remain essentially stable during the week, with clear skies occasionally obscured by some thin clouds. Temperatures will increase day after day and will reach increasingly higher values, with the peak of the heat expected between Thursday and Friday when the weather becomes decidedly muggy. In fact, at night the minimum temperatures will not fall below 23/25°C in the inland areas and will even be higher along the coast, where they will fluctuate around 26/27°C. During the day the climate will become fiery and maximum values can reach 40°C on the plains,a few degrees less instead along the coast, mitigated by the cooler sea surface. In particular Highs of 40°C are expected in Rome between next Thursday and Friday, in Rieti 40/41°C, in Frosinone 41/42°C, in Latina 38/40°C. By next weekend this intense African heat wave could finally stop, due to the entry of cooler currents from the northern quadrants which would significantly reduce temperatures.
