Two doctors are under investigation for the death of the 2-year-old girl who died in Aosta hospital after having been to the emergency room twice. An autopsy has been ordered on the body of the little girl who died for reasons to be ascertained.
At least two doctors are under investigation by the Aosta Prosecutor’s Office for the death of a 2-year-old girl on the night between 10 and 11 June at the Beauregard hospital in the regional capital. These are two paediatricians who, according to initial investigations, took care of the little girl when she entered the hospital.
It is probable, however, that as the authorities continue their investigations, other doctors may be under investigation. With the notice of guarantee at this stage they will be able to participate with their consultants in the autopsy on the little girl’s body ordered by the Prosecutor’s Office and scheduled for next Monday to shed light on the causes of death. The hypothesis of crime is that of manslaughter.
The matter is still being defined, but it seems that the little girl entered hospital in the night between Sunday and Monday due to a general ailment. After checks in the pediatric department, the little girl was discharged and sent home because, according to the doctors, she was in good health. However, on Monday afternoon the family returned to the hospital because her daughter continued to feel ill despite the reassurances of the healthcare staff. The minor was therefore subjected to new checks and further treatment. For safety she had been kept under observation in the same health facility, but the situation worsened late in the evening, when his condition worsened. Unfortunately, at 3 am he died from causes that currently remain to be ascertained.
