In the aftermath of the fire that started in the workshop in via Fra Galgario 8, Gambara area, which caused the death of three people who lived on the third floor, the neighborhood woke up shocked. Firefighters, police and a team from Unareti are still on site this morning.
Since yesterday evening they have been carrying out checks on the gas network. The connection, say the inhabitants of the area, was immediately disconnected.
This morning all eyes are on what remains of the palace. Five blackened floors, of which only 2 are inhabited, and on the ground floor the workshop from which the explosion started. Three are dead, a family known in the area, lived on the third floor. The tenant of the fifth was rescued. The other apartments were vacant and empty.
Yesterday, the people who live at nearby number 6 were immediately evacuated, like Nunzia.
His apartment overlooks the street. “At the time of the explosion I was at the supermarket in Piazzale Siena – she says – my daughter who lives in the Armed Forces area called me because a neighbor saw a column of black smoke. They made us evacuate and return at 10pm. I knew the three victims, I had said goodbye to their son at 6pm, also the owner of the workshop, Fabrizio, an honest worker”. The woman also says that, at the time of the explosion, the two gas cylinders seen by a neighbor in the courtyard the previous day were no longer there. The road was immediately closed, only residents can pass through at the moment.
Another witness who lives in the building opposite, across the street, says that at the time of the explosion he was at home with his daughter. They heard the explosion but were not evacuated. Francesco, who lives a few meters away, also speaks of multiple explosions. He heard multiple explosions and says that the first to arrive were six police patrols (MiaNews).
