The Civil Protection has issued the daily bulletin on risk of fires and heat waves in the past few hours. Based on the indications, one will be in force throughout Sicily pre-alert state (orange alert) due to fire risk. However, no particularly worrying heat waves are expected: the alert level, in fact, is zero.
The pre-alert status for fire risk provides that: “The weather and climatic conditions and the humidity of the
vegetable fuel are such as to generate a fire with high fire intensity and fast spread“.
The expected temperatures
The forecast for the weekend of Saturday 15 June and Sunday 16 June they promise quite well for Sicily. Will be clear or slightly cloudy in all Sicilian cities and towns maximum temperatures they will remain above 25 degrees and will even exceed 30/32 degrees in the central hours of the day. The hottest cities will be Catania, Messina and Caltanissetta, which can reach peaks above 30 degrees.
The day of Sunday, on the weather front, it will be slightly less sunny. However, no heavy rain is expected and the temperatures they will still be high, with highs that will exceed 30 degrees and could even reach 35 on the eastern coast of Sicily.
