how much does a full tank cost today – QuiFinanza

The third weekend of June does not offer good news for Italians who drive petrol or diesel vehicles. The price is in fact increasing. Some have been applied upward corrections to what is the average cost on the fuel network.

New fuel prices

The international quotes some refined people have closed uphill on Thursday 13 June. A condition of prices that mainly concerns diesel. As mentioned, there have been corrections revised upwards for the average prices charged at the distributor for both petrol and diesel. Today, Friday 14 June, a new one upward adjustment was implemented by Q8, with +1 cent on what are the recommended costs for both types of fuel.

According to the data communicated by the managers to the Price Observatory of the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, subsequently processed by Daily Relayhere are the prices of petrol and diesel:

  • self-service petrol at 1.850 euros/litre (-2 thousandths, companies between 1.835 and 1.863 euros/litre, no logo 1.841)
  • self-service diesel at 1,700 euros/litre (-2 thousandths, companies between 1,688 and 1,710 euros/litre, no logo 1,694)
  • petrol served at 1.993 euros/litre (-2 thousandths, companies between 1.923 and 2.067 euros/litre, no logo 1.901)
  • diesel served at 1.844 euros/litre (-2 thousandths, companies between 1.779 and 1.915 euros/litre, no logo 1.753)

Let’s move on to the prices at the distributor for “alternative fuels”:

  • gpl between 0.714 and 0.734 euro/litre (no logo 0.700)
  • methane between 1.311 and 1.360 euro/kg (no logo 1.324)
  • LNG at 1.179 euro/kg (unchanged, companies 1.185 euro/kg, white pumps 1.175 euro/kg).

How much does it cost to fill up on the motorway

Bad news for those who have to travel, for work or pleasure, since petrol and diesel prices are increasing on the motorway. As usual, there is a great variety depending on the areas of Italy, with an alarming average:

  • self-service petrol: 1,941 euros/litre
  • self-service diesel: 1,815 euros/litre
  • gpl: 0.842 euros/litre;
  • methane: 1,447 euros/kg.

Fuel price, how much it cost in 2023

Drivers can no longer handle such a situation, with hopes of further reductions now dashed. The decline had given some hope, but it lasted too short and was decidedly not very incisive to have a real impact on Italians’ pockets.

There is little response from Giorgia Meloni’s government on the subject, despite the excise duty battle being a well-known battle carried out by the current prime minister (as she has been reminded several times).

After a year, let’s try to do a comparison of rates at the distributor. In June 2023 the average price of self-service petrol was 1.854 euros per litre. That of diesel, however, was 1.693 euros per liter. Moving on to the served ones, however, 1.991 and 1.834 euros per liter were recorded. Here is the situation with “alternative fuels”:

  • gpl: between 0.731 and 0.749 euros per litre;
  • methane: between 1.438 and 1.553 euros per litre.

A situation mostly unchanged, at times slightly worse, especially with regards to LPG. A consistency of increases that seems to shout to the country that this is now the new normal.
