Saturday 15 June LA MILANESIANcreated and directed by ELISABETTA SGARBI, returns to the Piccolo Teatro Paolo Grassi in MILAN (via Rovello, 2) with a new appointment entitled “Metaphysics and music”.

The appointment begins at 9.00 pm with the lectio magistralis of the philosopher and essayist MASSIMO CACCIARI, which returns to La again this year Milanesiana for a reflection on Metaphysics and Shyness.

Introduced by the entrepreneur Francesco Micheli, the concert will follow by the Dutch pianist GILE BAE. Child prodigy, internationally recognized for her impeccable technique and extraordinary interpretative sensitivity, will bring a selected repertoire of classical music masterpieces to the stage. Gile Bae will present a program that includes some of the most fascinating and complex works of the piano repertoire: two of the famous Toccatas of Johann Sebastian Bach and the majestic Sonata no. 18 op. 31 no. 3 in E flat major than Ludwig van Beethoven.

Francesco Micheli

Among the first in Italy to identify sectors with strong and strategic potential in high technology, telecommunications and genomics, he created successful start-ups, including FastWeb in 2000 and then Genextra (President and CEO) in the biotechnology sector, with Umberto Veronesi. In parallel with classical high school and university he studied piano with the guidance of his father, a teacher at the Milan Conservatory. He is part of the Board of Directors of various cultural and philanthropic bodies including Fondazione Teatro alla Scala, Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala, Fondazione LuganoMusica, MilanoMusica, Amici della Scala, Teatro Parenti. President of FerraraMusica, of the Neuroscience Foundation and of the Convivio Association. President of the Board of Directors of Nextalia SpA and of its Strategic Advisory Board. President of the Milan Conservatory of Music from 2000 to 2007, he founded and managed until 2015, MITO SettembreMusica, the Festival born in 2007 from the twinning between Turin and Milan. Through the Foundation that bears his father’s name, he produced three editions of the Umberto Micheli International Piano Competition in the 1990s, chaired by Luciano Berio and created together with Maurizio Pollini and Enzo Restagno.

Gile Bae

Born in Rotterdam in 1994, Bösendorfer Artist since 2018, she made her piano debut in South Korea at just 5 years old. At the age of 6 she studied at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague with Marlies van Gent. She has won numerous prestigious awards including First Prize at the Steinway & Sons International Competition. She has performed under the direction of Vladimir Ashkenazy and Fabio Luisi and has played several times with the Rai National Symphony Orchestra at the Teatro Coccia in Novara and at the Teatro Abbado in Ferrara, and with the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra at the Royal Opera House of Muscat (Oman). Concerts for the Dutch Royal Family, the President of the Republic of Malta and for Aung San Suu Kyi, Nobel Peace Prize winner. You participated in the MITO Festival and several editions of La Milanesiana. At the invitation of Sir András Schiff he played at the Klavier Festival Ruhr and participated in the “Building Bridges” project, in the 2020/2021 season in various European halls including De Singel in Antwerp, Beethoven-Haus in Bonn and Konzerthaus in Berlin. Gile Bae recorded JSBach’s Goldberg Variations on the Foné label.
