Guests in Castel di Ieri to visit the most important sites in the country. They are the students of the school group coming from Calgary, Canada, who in the Subequano town had the opportunity to appreciate the Italic temple, the hermitage of the Madonna di Pietrabona and the ancient village with the medieval watchtower in addition to the warm welcome given to them by the community .

As demonstrated by the thanks that the mayor of Castel di Ieri Fernando Fabrizio wanted to reserve for the students by giving them “an icon representative of the Madonna of Pietrabona, as depicted in the fresco of the main altar, created specifically for a fundraiser intended for restoration and conservation of the same”. Professors Carolyn Musseig and George Ferzoco, professors of the degree course in history and practice of Abruzzo religious culture in the faculty of humanistic and art studies at the University of Bristol, received the welcome tribute.

The presence of Canadian students in Castel di Ieri contributes to the promotion of the territory through culture and sites of tourist interest, places in which the Municipality has decided to invest “for a discussion of development and regeneration of the socio-economic fabric, as well as local historical memory”.
