One year after the flood in Modigliana it is still “Moved Earth”. The restart festival focuses on women: Nada, Cristina Donà, Mara Redeghieri and many other artists. Last year, with unprecedented participation, the three-day Modigliano event became one of the symbols of the recovery of the Romagna area after the floods and landslides. “The city of women” is the theme of this edition with an all-female program.

The hot days to mark in the calendar are July 19th and 20th, but there will also be small previews and a festive epilogue on the program. If last year it was Capossela and Finardi who led a caravan of artists (all arriving free of charge) in front of a packed town, this year the Festival starts again from a new and curious angle. “The City of Women” is the Fellini subtitle of the 2024 edition, which immediately makes the chosen theme clear. “For better or for worse, this festival was born from the land – explains the artistic director Antonio Gramentieri – The land that broke away from the mountains and devoured portions of the landscape, the land to which we want to remain tied and which we want to help restart. When we decided to propose the festival again, the idea was to start a reflection on the relationship with the Earth. Starting from the idea of mother earth, earth generating life, it was inevitable to first assume a feminine point of view, so to speak…”

The calendar has certainly become feminine, with only female artists, singers, performers and so on on the programme. Nada, Cristina Donà, Mara Redeghieri (formerly Ustmamò) are the leading names, but there is no shortage of new interpreters on the Italian scene such as Maria Antonietta, Emma Nolde, Arianna Pasini and Marta Delgrandi. Together with them many other performers from the folk area (Fede N Marlen, Noemi Valzano), jazz (Sara Jane Ghiotti and Silvia Valtieri, The Last Coat of Pink). Representing the theater is Elena Bucci, as a bridge between the arts the singer and performer Francesca Amati (formerly Comaneci) and a talk by the photographer Silvia Camporesi, who oversaw a photographic research on behalf of the Emilia Romagna Region in Romagna devastated by bad weather .

“Hosting Nada, Cristina Donà and Mara Redeghieri in a small town, on the same evening – explains Gramentieri – is a beautiful dream, a tribute to different seasons of Italian female music which continue to create beauty and poetry even today. Juxtaposing these names with those of artists of other generations and other genres is a sign of continuity, and an invitation to listen.”

The weekend does not include entrance tickets, but a spontaneous contribution from the public. In the days before, and on Sunday, off events are scheduled throughout the center of the town. TERRA MOSSA is organized by Pro Loco Modigliana and Big Ben APS, with the artistic coordination of Crinale Lab, the contribution of the Emilia Romagna Region, the Municipality of Modigliana, the Cassa dei Risparmi Forlì Foundation and Credito Cooperativo Ravennate, Forlivese and Imolese, and with the support of artists and the local community. 19-20-21 July 2024, Modigliana, historic centre. Concerts start: Friday at 6pm, Saturday and Sunday all day. Free entry to support the area.
