“The vote for Andrea Virgilio would put half of Gianluca Galimberti’s council back in Palazzo Comunale”: a tough stance taken by Alessandro Portesani, mayoral candidate for the centre-right, who retraces the situation based on simulations relating to the real votes.
“The people of Cremona must know this” he underlines. “If the outgoing vice mayor were to win the ballot, according to the simulations on the real votes, as well as Virgilio himself, the current councilors would also return: Luca Burgazzi, Simona Pasquali, Luca Zanacchi and Rosita Viola.
The following would sit on the council again: the current Prime Minister Paolo Giuseppe Andrea Carletti, the group leader of the Democratic Party Roberto Poli and the municipal councilor Giovanni Gagliardi”.
“This is proven proof that, despite Luciano Pizzetti’s declarations on an alleged ‘discontinuity’ of a possible Virgilio Council, nothing would change: everything would remain more or less the same,” urges Portesani. “Is this what the people of Cremona want? Do they want Virgilio and Burgazzi who told lies to the city about Palazzo Cittanova?
Do they want councilor Zanacchi back who left the sports facilities in the miserable conditions that all Cremonese and non-Cremonese athletes are forced to see? Do they still want councilor Pasquali who left the streets like a real Gruyere? Do they want Rosita Viola, councilor for Social Policies and Fragility, who has exploded spending on welfare without improving the levels of assistance for citizens and without improving the working conditions of those who provide the services?“.
“Here, we need to unmask one of the many lies that the center-left is telling about an alleged discontinuity with Gianluca Galimberti’s council. The people of Cremona should not be convinced by the enchanting sirens sounded on television programmes. Our fellow citizens would find all those who have sacrificed city commerce in favor of large supermarkets. Who have traded public health for large multi-utilities. I don’t think the people of Cremona want to return to that past that they have so contested” concludes the candidate.
