The boys of the Modern and Contemporary Theater Laboratory of the “Federico Quercia” high school leave, with profound and ruthless realism, an indelible mark on the consciences of those who witnessed the event in the courtyard of via Gemma n. on Wednesday 12 June 2024. 54, at the staging of “The War Explained to the Poor” single act of Ennio Flaiano. Many people attended the event and the Headmaster, Dr. Diamond Marottatogether with the Deputy Collaborator, Prof. Pasquale Delle Curtiwelcomed the Mayor of Marcianise, Dr. Anthony Trumpetand other school managers, close to the “Quercia” high school in terms of life path, such as prof. Maria Delle Curti And Concetta Carugo; their dissent against the war and its total nonsense is intense in a sharp satire on the power that governs and manipulates lives and history, losing any human and moral dimension. Following this, the boys from the Theater Laboratory brought on stage “Voices from War”, or testimonies of the war from different times and places, a two-track journey into the brutalities of war and the continuous search for peace produced by the Creative Writing Laboratory of the ” Oak”. A passionate journey into history, religion, science, but above all a realistic journey into the human soul which, while constantly seeking delicacy, gives in to the lie that sustains war, whose first innocent victim is the truth. All in the splendid setting created by the students of the laboratory directed by the Prof Angela Romano who availed itself, for the occasion, of the collaboration of the well-known artist from Marcianise Antimo Foglia, while the costumes were designed by Prof Clorinda Leaf. “Yet another amazing evening of culture, entertainment and art at the Liceo Quercia which I have the honor of directing – declared DS Diamante Marotta– The boys did an exceptional job to affirm the value of peace and concentrated on the search for a particular, refined text, which was born, most likely from the depths of the heart, in a moment in which war confirms that it is, as our young actors said, the devil’s stage.
