ASCOLI PICENO – The regional secretariat of the carabinieri union Sim (Italian military union) Marche highlights the critical situation of the operating conditions of the Carabinieri in the city and province of Ascoli Piceno, with particular concern for the mobile radio section of the Carabinieri company of Ascoliwhich manages the emergency response.
“After 8pm – writes Sim – the lack of support from other crews makes it difficult to manage interventions such as road accidents, arguments and fights”.
The Carabinieri union highlights that the multiple daily requests take away resources from the garrison of the territory and put the health of the soldiers at risk, often forced to give up rest and holidays: “with the arrival of summer and the increase in requests for intervention, the situation could worsen, despite the extraordinary commitment of the remaining carabinieri”.
Furthermore, according to Sim Marche, the upcoming G7 in Puglia will further reduce the staff of the mobile radio section of Ascoli, which will be temporarily transferred to Puglia to guarantee the security of the summit. For this reason the regional secretariat of the union will ask the prefect of Ascoli for urgent intervention Saint Copponi to “verify the workload of soldiers, ensure compliance with rest and holiday rights and evaluate working stress conditions”. For the union, the psychophysical well-being of the police is in fact “essential to guarantee the safety of citizens”.
