MILAN – Hands off Umberto Bossi. A imperative launched by Attilio Fontana, Lombard governor, on the sidelines of the laying of the foundation stone of De Nora’s Gigafactory, to reporters who asked him if there will be measures against the Senatur and Paolo Grimoldi after the European elections. “Bossi – Fontana added – he is absolutely the founder, the one who has always allowed all of us to carry out activities. Bossi cannot be touched. On Grimoldi there are the people in charge, the leaders who will decide, we’ll see.” And again: “We’re not joking. Bossi is something about which no hint can even be made“.
An unequivocal hello! For Matteo Salvini and for the general Roberto Vannacci who spoke the day after the electoral endorsement of the founder of the League in favor of Marco Reguzzoni and Forza Italia. Harsh words to comment on a certainly unusual position taken by the first member of the Northern League, the leader who started it all, who invites the electorate to choose Reguzzoni and not a Salvinian candidate. The federal secretary even mentioned Bossi’s expulsion: “he disrespected not me but the militants.” And Vannacci: “I leave the political considerations to the secretary of the League, I’m just saying that, from a personal and not political point of view, people who change their faces according to the wind smacks of betrayal to me”.
For Fontana, however, and not only for him: Bossi is Bossi, he can even be forgiven for certain escapes forward. How can you blame him?
