Which city came out of the polls? “I believe that a lively, democratic city has emerged, with a great desire to participate”. Convinced of having been driven by the youth vote, Massari wants to be everyone’s mayor and says he is ready to listen and dialogue. “I will be open to all contributions and I thank Tarquini, Aguzzoli, Soragni and the other candidates for the civil discussion”. On a political and programmatic level, the new mayor confirmed the policies of containment of building expansion and support for the prefecture in the fight against organized crime, ensuring great attention to the issue of healthcare.
He said he was happy for the success of the Democratic Party and for the good result of the Green and Left Alliance and M5S, but he made it clear that the council team will not be composed using the criterion of preferences. “Will you also search outside the electoral lists? Surely, politics does not end with parties.” When we ask him if he feels penalized by the fact of not being a professional politician, he replies: “Perhaps penalized because I didn’t know certain dynamics, but it doesn’t mean that I have to adapt to the rules of politics as they are.”
