“Growing online”, a meeting in Ceglie Messapica to combine ancient arts and modernity

CEGLIE MESSAPICA – Great success with participation for the “Crescere in rete” event, the spin-off of the Galattica project, hosted at the Med Cooking School in Ceglie Messapica and which took place on Sunday 9 June. The event, promoted as part of the Galattica project, allowed us to explore new passions and stimulate the creativity of many young people who took part.

The cultural contamination between ancient crafts and the modernity of young talents made the evening interesting. The cloister of one of the most beautiful buildings in Ceglie Messapica has become a meeting place between the art of embroidery, bobbin, carpentry, handmade paper, Japanese binding and music, which has designed a new universe made of future prospects and projects.

“Be hungry for curiosity and culture”, began Mirko Lodedo who, together with Giulio Ferretto, facilitated a contamination of cultures and knowledge, manifested in the activities of various local associations. The banquets of Plasticfree, of Anna Elia’s carpentry workshop, of the embroidery of the Arte e Cultura nel Tempo association, the Bearers of Joy and the fans of the Games Festival were integrated, accompanied by the fast-paced rhythm of the musical group of the Casarmonica association .

“We wanted to create a place where we can transmit knowledge to young people through manual skills”, explained Giulio Ferretto. “A place full of talent and creativity has been born that will be difficult to stop.”

The evening was also attended by representatives of the Fortis Group, a network of companies which also includes Dante Alighieri Ets, manager of the Galattica Node in Ceglie Messapica, and Anastasia Luceri, Youthworker Arti Puglia for Galattica. “The Puglia Region believes a lot in the spirit that animates the networks,” declared Luceri. “The Galattica project is based on this, to give young people not only professional skills, but also cultural contamination”.

The event positively marked the process of discussion in the city of Ceglie Messapica, which lasted over two months, during which various associations met and found opportunities for interaction and collaboration.
