Giorgia Meloni, as was easy to predict, is the absolute record holder for personal consensus in these European elections. When there are still less than a thousand sections to be scrutinized (out of a total of 61,650) the DIU Fdi leader, candidate as head of the list in all five constituencies, has over 2.3 million votes. However, the prime minister will not go to Strasbourg and will give up her seat to other members of the list. Despite her excellent personal performance, she did not surpass the absolute record of personal consensus established by Silvio Berlusconi in 1999: three million votes in the European elections of the time. But with 200 sections still to be scrutinized and 2 million 367 thousand preferences already received beat the record of 2,357,728 preferences obtained by Matteo Salvini at the last European elections in 2019 in the five constituencies in Italy.
Decaro exploit in the Democratic Party: more than double Schlein’s preferences
In the Democratic Party, it is an exploit of the mayor of Bari Antonio Decaro. The judicial investigations for vote swapping, which involved the Emiliano council, did not affect the candidate’s popularity. Decaro is the most voted PD candidate in these European elections. Following, among the most “popular” is the governor of Emilia Romagna and president of the Democratic Party Stefano Bonacciniwith beyond 384 thousand votes, of which 257 thousand in his region. The leaders in the North West Cecilia Strada collects further 282 thousand preferences. The now former mayor of Bergamo Giorgio Gori, candidate in the North West, is at quota 210 thousand. While the secretary Elly Schlein leader in the Center and in the Islands, stops at this level 206 thousand votes (121 thousand in the Center and 85 thousand on the islands).
Over 500 thousand votes for Vannacci
Below the psychological threshold of 10%, the League’s result (at 9.1%, a slight recovery compared to 8.8% in previous elections) is driven by General Roberto Vannacci. Candidate in all constituencies, the general collects 530 thousand votes, over 180 thousand in the North West, 140 thousand in the North East, 95 thousand in the Centre, 72 thousand in the South and around 35 thousand in the Islands. Vannacci is in first place for preferences in the League in all constituencies, except the Islands
Salis elected to the European Parliament: exceeds 170 thousand votes
Ilaria Salis gets plenty of preferences in the two constituencies where she is a candidate with Avs (6.6%), the North-West, where she is the leader, and the Islands. The activist under house arrest with the electronic bracelet in Budapest, she gets 126 thousand votes in the North West constituency where she is the most voted Avs candidate. And 50 thousand preferences in the Islands (first in the list preferences here too). She in total she exceeds the 176 thousand votes. And she was elected to the European Parliament.
Tajani comes close to 400 thousand preferences
The leader of Forza Italia Antonio Tajani, leader in 4 constituencies (he did not show up in the Islands) comes close to 400 thousand preferences, obtaining the best result in the southern constituency (over 145 thousand preferences). Nothing Letizia Moratti, president of the Forza Italia council, received 42 thousand votes. Among the most voted Italians Fulvio Martusciello head of delegation of Forza Italia in the European Parliament with over 97 thousand preferences and the councilor for productive activities of the Sicily Region (where Fi is the first party), Edmondo Tamajoleader in the Islands constituency, with over 121 thousand personal votes.
