This morning at 7 am the polling stations reopened to vote in the European elections. First day of voting concluded without unexpected events.
In Syracuse city, the voter turnout yesterday at 11pm was 8.81 percent. 8,599 Syracusans voted. The electoral body is made up of 97,617 people, of which 50,726 women and 46,891 men. There are 573 eighteen-year-olds: 293 females and 280 males.
At the 2019 European elections, when voting took place in a single day, the first survey had recorded a presence in the polling stations equal to 9.62 percent of the electoral body, which then numbered 98,958 Syracusans.
The next survey will be at 12pm today.
At the same time as the reopening of the polling stations, the service for issuing electoral cards has resumed at the office in via San Sebastiano 31. You can go there if the card in your possession has all the spaces occupied or has been lost or damaged.
To exercise the right to vote you must also show up at the polling station with a valid identity document, with photo, or one that has expired no more than 3 years ago. If you do not have a document, it is sufficient that the voter’s identity is guaranteed by the president or a member of the polling station. Furthermore, those who, in the days preceding the consultation, have submitted a request for an electronic identity card will be able to vote by showing the receipt which, as it contains a photograph, personal data and number, meets the requirements of the identification document.
