Cassini’s 3S class won the Red Cross Dunant Award

The 3 S class of the Cassini high school in Sanremo won the “Henry Dunant Award” assigned by a specialist jury as part of a national competition on International Humanitarian Law organized by the National Committee of the Cri, which saw a high school for each region. The award was established on the occasion of the 160th anniversary of the foundation of the Red Cross, which will be celebrated on 24 June in Solferino, in the presence of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella.

The students’ long journey on the topic of International Humanitarian Law, thanks to the Cri Diu instructors Cosimo Motta, Patrizia Piredda and Laura Audenino, began in March: 8 weekly meetings and a debate following the screening of the docufilm “The violence of exploitation – The exploitation of violence”, published by Unicef and the International Committee of the Red Cross, on child soldiers and child exploitation. At the end of the initiative, the class visited the Cri headquarters in Sanremo, where the complex organization and functioning of a Cri Committee was illustrated. The president of the Sanremo Committee, Ettore Guazzoni, expressed his gratitude to the students, the teacher Caterina Bocchi and the principal Mara Ferrero for believing in the project. —
