Accident at work in Palermo. A 54-year-old worker was crushed by a compactor this morning while he was at work in the Mondello area. The vehicle hit him while he was reversing.
The 118 health workers rescued him and transported him to the emergency room of Villa Sofia, where the worker arrived in code red.
He received initial treatment in the emergency room and was immediately transferred to the Trauma Center to treat the numerous injuries sustained.

This is a forty-four year old from Comiso who was carrying out maintenance work on behalf of an external company on the structure where the Mercato del Fiore is located, in the Arizza district. Suddenly he lost his balance, falling about five metres.

A couple of weeks ago, another accident at work, this time in the Palermo area: a 50-year-old worker engaged in maintenance work on public lighting poles, contracted by the Municipality to a company in the sector, ended up in a ravine together with the truck with the crane and the basket with which we were working.
The worker was saved thanks to the intervention of the 118 health workers who arrived by air ambulance. The resuscitation doctor managed to stabilize him and take him to the emergency room of the Civic hospital in Palermo in fifteen minutes. The prognosis is guarded. The investigations are conducted by the Carabinieri of the Corleone company. The firefighters also intervened and actively participated in the rescue intervention together with the 118 health workers.
Two weeks ago accident in Ispica
Only fifteen days ago, yet another accident at work. A worker who fell from the basket of a mobile crane in Ispica was seriously injured: the man fell from a height of approximately seven meters in via De Cristoforis, a side street of via Roma. The accident occurred while he was carrying out maintenance work with some colleagues who immediately raised the alarm. The 118 health workers arrived on site with an ambulance and, given the worker’s condition, requested the intervention of the air ambulance. Also in this case the injured person was transported to the Cannizzaro hospital.
