The INGV, the national institute of geophysics and volcanology, has reported an earthquake in a locality Urbino, precisely two kilometers south of the well-known town in the Marche region. The earthquake had a magnitude of 2.8 degrees on the Richter scale and it happened last night, precisely at 3:00 pm 3:28 between Friday 7 and Saturday 8 June 2024.
Today’s earthquake was localized by the INGV-Rome Seismic Room in an area with geographical coordinates (equal to 43.7200 degrees latitude, 12.6140 degrees longitude and a depth of 48 kilometers below sea level. The municipalities of Fermignano, Urbania, Peglio, Montecalvo in Foglia and Sassocorvaro, all places in the province of Pesaro Urbino, while the city with at least 50 thousand inhabitants closest to the earthquake was found to be Pesaro32 kilometers away, with Fano further away at 36, then Rimini at 38, then Cesena at 55 and finally Arezzo at 65 kilometres.
EARTHQUAKE TODAY IN L’AQUILA, THE DETAILS INGV
The INGV reported another today earthquakeprecisely that of magnitude 2.1 degrees on the Richter scale occurred three kilometers west of Sandro Castlea well-known Abruzzo town in the province of The Eagle.
In this case the earthquake occurred shortly after midnight yesterday, precisely at 00 and 11 minutes, in an area with geographical coordinates equal to 41.7830 degrees of latitude, 14.0720 of longitude and a depth of 20 kilometers below sea level. The earthquake was localized by the INGV-Rome Seismic Room and the municipalities of Scontrone, Alfedena, Roccaraso, Barrea and Monetenero Val Cocchiara were identified in the area. The city closest to the earthquake turned out to be Chieti, 64 kilometers away, with Pescara at 77, then Montesilvano at 82 kilometers and Caserta at the same distance. Today’s earthquake shocks caused no damage or injuries.
