From 7 to 9 June in the splendid Villa di Toppo-Florio, the best of the native wines of Friuli Venezia Giulia, but also gastronomic proposals and a rich program of collateral events
The 91st edition of the Buttrio Regional Wine Fair is underwaythe oldest wine event in Friuli Venezia Giulia and among the historical realities of the whole of Italy. From 7 to 9 June in the splendid Villa di Toppo-Florio with its archaeo-botanical park, the event will propose the best of the native wines of Friuli Venezia Giulia (105 labels) along with delicious gastronomic proposals and to a program of collateral events for all ages.
The inauguration with toasts, exhibitions and a round table.
The official start with the inauguration on Friday 7 June at 6.30 pm in the Pasolini room in Villa di Toppo-Florio. We will start with the round table hosted by Stefano Cosma “Alcohol or no alcohol, this is the dilemma. New eno-hamletic questions”. Among the participants in the debate Matteo Carzedda, agricultural economist from the University of Trieste, the journalist Walter Filiputti and the promoter of Friulian wine, the American Wayne Young. Greetings from the authorities will follow presentation of the photographic exhibition “Sguardi diVini dal 20th century to today” by dotART and will end with the inaugural toast in the Isi Benini room.
The first day of the Fair ends with the Papu.
These are the other events of the first day of June 7th. It will open at 6pm Wine tasting counter regional autochthonous wines of Vinibuoni d’Italia (foreground of Villa di Toppo-Florio) and the Taste Tent with stalls selling excellent regional agri-food products (Area in front of the Villa). It will be open ‘The wonders of our country: traditions, hills, vineyards’, graphic-pictorial exhibition of the students of the D. Alighieri Primary School and the I. Nievo Secondary School of Buttrio. In the area in front of the Villa musical performance by the Never Say Duo.
The culinary offerings begin at 7pm. In front of the villa, cooking contest A surprise first course – Chefs in the challenge while in the park the catering area opens with typical cuisine prepared by chef Cortiula and the wines of Buttrio’s winemakers. At 7.45pm another one performance by Never Say Duo. At 8pm guided tour with Veronica Tomasettig to the new Museum of the Civilization of Wine of FVG and, finally, at 9pm we will laugh with I Papu in the park: their comedy show “At what point is the route?” on stage. Free admission.
