The incident, which occurred on November 2, 2020, shocked the Bassa due to the brutality of the conduct that immediately emerged. According to an initial reconstruction, a man and a woman were blocked by two scooters while they were in the car. Then they were kicked and punched and slashed with knives. The man was abandoned bleeding on the street, the girl taken to a vineyard and then to a house, where she was allegedly subjected to sexual abuse. The Carabinieri of Correggio and Novellara, together with their colleagues from Reggio and Guastalla, arrested five people of Maghreb origin, including a woman: Mustapha Fadli, now 33 years old, and 28 year old Rafik Fadli, both illegal immigrants and domiciled in Correggio in via Canolo 44, the house where part of the disputed events occurred. And then the 39 year old Abdeljabar Lahoudigad, from Noceto (Parma), the 46 year old Mohamed Benabbou, domiciled in Sant’Ilario and the 30 year old Ghizlane Hassouni from Montichiari (Brescia). In the meantime, the judicial file has arrived at the ordinary trial, before the panel of judges chaired by Cristina Beretti, alongside Giovanni Ghini and Silvia Semprini. The five defendants are accused of various crimes, including sexual assault, kidnapping, aggravated assault and private violence. A Moroccan man now 47 years old, resident in the Parma area, and his 41-year-old girlfriend, his compatriot, who lives in Reggio, have joined the civil action by relying on the lawyers Giuseppe Caldarola and Alessandro Carrara. According to the prosecution’s reconstruction, after being blocked, they were slashed with knives on their faces and legs. The woman was then dragged to a nearby vineyard with the intent to rape her, while the man was left bleeding at the scene of the attack. The woman was then forcibly put on one of the scooters and taken to a house in Correggio where the woman resident in the Brescia area was. Her screams, heard by the police who were looking for her, triggered the alarm: the arrests were then made in via Canolo. According to the prosecution, the four men, after beating the now 41-year-old woman, ordered her “to undress and clean off her blood because they would have raped her in the apartment in via Canolo 44”. In the meantime, Mustapha Fadli allegedly groped her breast, then the action was interrupted by the intervention of the police. The accused woman allegedly forced the victim to stay in the bathroom, removing her blood and giving her new clothes to mislead the police. Yesterday a witness, a drug user, was heard who reported on a drug dealing charge against Benabbou. We will continue in January with the texts of the prosecutor.
