Multiversity confirms its commitment to the environment by joining the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) with the aim of presenting medium-term targets by 2026 reduction of its emissions (Near-Term Reduction Targets).
SBTi is a global climate action collaboration between the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the We Mean Business Coalition, the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF ), with the aim of helping companies and financial institutions set science-based emissions reduction targets, in line with the Paris Agreement.
With the support of Schneider ElectricMultiversity has calculated its carbon footprint and is now ready to develop an implementation plan to define these important climate goals. “Joining this project represents a step forward for Multiversity in the path of environmental, social and governance sustainability (ESG). As the first Education Group in Italy, it is our responsibility to actively engage in environmental protection” he explained Fabio Vaccarono, CEO of Multiversity.
Last December, Multiversity received the gold medal from EcoVadis Sustainability Rating – an international ESG rating platform that evaluates over 100,000 companies worldwide – with a score of 71 out of 100 placing it among the top 5% of companies rated in the 2023.

“The excellent evaluation of Morningstar Sustainalytics Esg Risk Rating in October 2023 and the gold medal of EcoVadis confirm the effectiveness of the initiatives undertaken by the Multiversity Group and our commitment to sustainability with the aim of bringing benefits and value creation long-term both for employees and students and for the entire community in Italy.” he has declared Giovanni Marino, CFO of Multiversity. “Today, on the occasion of World Environment Day, we communicate our initiatives to protect the planet which culminate in joining the SBTi. Currently, in Italy, there are already 186 companies participating in the SBTi and Multiversity is the first company in the “Education Services” sector to join. We hope that more and more companies will follow this path, collectively contributing to the fight against climate change,” he added Alice Soulie, Head of ESG and DE&I at Multiversity.
To encourage concrete actions in favor of the environment, the universities of the Multiversity Group, the Pegaso University, the Universitas Mercatorum and the San Raffaele University of Rome, will promote volunteering activities for their students this year. These activities will be led by the association Plastic Freededicated to the fight against plastic pollution, with the aim of raising students’ awareness of the importance of promoting a more sustainable future.
