ASPMI expresses its own condolences for the tragic accident occurred in Sardinia on State Road 131, near Tramatza (province of Oristano), which involved two soldiers stationed in Teulada.

The tragic event occurred at kilometer 102, where a Lince armored vehicle Yes is overturned. Unfortunately, one of our colleagues he lost his life instantly. The victim, according to initial information, is a 45 year old soldier of Sant’Anna Arresi, the Graduate Adjutant Stefano Pistis of the 3rd Bersaglieri Regiment of the Sassari Brigade. The second soldier, a forty-seven year old, Roberto Calaresu, was transported by air ambulance to the Brotzu hospital in Cagliari, having suffered numerous injuries. However, his life is not in danger.

According to an initial reconstruction, the accident was caused bytire explosion, which caused the armored vehicle to lose grip, causing it to overturn on its side. The forty-seven year old remained inside the passenger compartment, while his younger colleague was thrown out, remaining tragically crushed.

In this moment of deep pain, ASPMI rallies around the victim’s family and his wounded comrade, offering all our support and solidarity. The loss of a colleague is a serious blow to our entire military community.

With a mourning heart, we give honor to the memory of our fallen colleague and we wish a speedy recovery to the wounded soldier.
