Listen to the audio version of the article

The Antitrust decided to carry out 13 moral suasion interventions towards the companies Illumia, Jen Energia, Dolomiti Energia, Axpo Italia (Pulsee Luce & Gas), Ajo’ Energia, Acea Energia, Ecom-Energu Comune, Agsm Aim Energia, Hera Comm, Wekiwi, Omnia Energia, Semplice Gas & Luce, E.On Energia because the offers advertised online were not fully compliant with consumer protection regulations.

Monitoring of commercial offers

In particular, following the expected cessation of the protected market, the Authority monitored the commercial offers proposed by the main electricity and gas sales companies present on the free market to verify the transparency and completeness of the promotional information.

The critical issues encountered

The Authority found critical issues in the various cost items because the indication of some charges that make up the price of energy was missing. Regarding environmental claims, however, it emerged that some statements by companies did not provide detailed and certified information on the concrete actions carried out.

The request to integrate promotional information

Therefore, at the end of the monitoring, the companies were invited to integrate their promotional information in a clear and exhaustive way, by indicating all the charges that make up energy expenditure. Furthermore, the Authority asked to prepare complete and correct information on green claims. These latest interventions are part of the attention that the Authority is paying and will continue to pay to the electricity and gas market, as reiterated by President Roberto Rustichelli.
