BALLABIO – Accident in the early afternoon of today, Monday 3 June, along the SP62the “old” road that connects Ballabio with Lecco: according to initial information, a a ButanGas tanker which transposed dangerous substances it would have overturned on the road near Villa dei Pini. With the arrival of the police, the road was promptly closed to traffic in both directions.
The driver of the heavy vehicle, a 39-year-old man, was rescued by the Lecco Red Cross in code yellow.
The Fire Brigade was also on site, as was the mayor of Ballabio Giovanni Bussolawhich, exclusively to BNsays: “It will go on for a long time, there is a strong smell of gas and it’s not a simple situation. The old road is totally closed. The Arriva group advised me that i busExceptionally, will pass through the tunnel of the new Lecco-Ballabio”.
Among the possible causes of the rollover are: brake failure of the vehicle – this circumstance needs to be ascertained.
