On Tuesday 4 June at 9.15pm at the San Marco Social Centre, the Democratic Party and its administrators will meet in an assembly open to citizens to discuss the possible construction of a biomethane power plant.
This project, of a private nature, does not appear to bring benefits to the development of the area nor to the quality of life of the residents. Furthermore, given its position, it will also involve the neighboring municipalities of Porto Sant’Elpidio, Sant’Elpidio a Mare and Monte Urano.
A worrying aspect of this story is that no one knew anything about this project. Thanks to the residents who raised the issue, in the legitimate fear of being subjected to the negative consequences of the construction of the power plant, it was possible to open a debate.
For this reason, in recent weeks, the Democratic Party has kept high attention on the work both in the press and in institutional settings by presenting questions in the city council and a motion in the regional council through councilor Cesetti.
The Democratic Party intends to maintain high attention on the work, promoting continuous dialogue with all citizens. Tuesday’s meeting will be an important opportunity to discuss the implications of the project and to gather the opinions of Fermo residents and affected municipalities, ensuring that the community’s concerns are adequately represented and listened to.
The goal is clear: to ensure that the voice of the community is heard and that political decisions are made taking into account the interests and well-being of all citizens involved. The Democratic Party undertakes to continuously monitor the situation, with the aim of protecting the public interest and promoting sustainable development for the territory.
