2023 proved to be an important year for Alleanza luce & gas spathanks in the second half of the year to the confirmed end of the conditions of the protection market in the energy segment – carried out on 10 January 2024 for gas and scheduled for 1 July 2024 for electricity – and a synergistic planning of communications and branding that have increased the recognition of the Accendi luce & gas Coop brand in the core regions.

In this scenario Alleanza luce & gas closed 2023 with over 174,000 active meters, a turnover of 102,693,097 euros and an operating profit of 4,797,356 euros, an increase of 17% compared to the 2022 profit, in a far-reaching plan that aims at the ecological transition, care for members and investments that guarantee an energy future for everyone that is attentive to the environment.

The network consolidation activities (now made up of over 90 direct and indirect agents) and sales activities recorded a growth rate of 58% in 2023, marking the all-time sales record in the history of Alleanza luce & gas on the channel physicist.

The proximity, even territorial, to the customer confirms the link with Coop members, who represent 78% of Alleanza luce & gas customers. The company’s assistance network, in fact, is made up of energy consultants present in over 300 Coop Alleanza 3.0, Coop Reno and Mastercoop stores – both on the peninsula and in Sicily – and a dedicated call center that responds directly from the Bologna headquarters.

Thanks to it, Alleanza luce & gas offers a high quality of service to customers, confirmed not only by the budget results, but also by a churn rate (the abandonment rate of customers who leave the energy company in favor of a competitor) which it stands at 14.2%, a decrease of 1.6% compared to 2022 (15.8%) and well below a national figure which fluctuates between 20 and 30%.

Supporting the market growth of the energy company Coop is the environmentally friendly approach and the choice to introduce certified renewable electricity into the grid through the guarantees of origin of the GSE and natural gas associated with the purchase of VERs Voluntary Emission Reductions certificates which they finance sustainability projects.

“2023 was the year in which we led our entire customer base to embrace the green side of energy, offering only and exclusively 100% certified green energy products in the portfolio – explains General Management Director Flavio Corti -. This year’s challenge is linked to the project ‘the expense that discounts your bill, the bill that discounts your expense’, unique in the Italian energy panorama, which allows us to keep the promise of savings and care for the planet made to the consumer” .

The Accendi Unica Coop product, 100% certified green energy, launched in May 2024, allows those who sign up to obtain repeated discounts on the purchase of Coop brand products. The same Coop products purchased at a discount accumulate points on the Coop Member Card which the customer can transform into discounts on the bill. “We are not talking about a product but about a new sustainable approach to the consumer, a consumer revolution that synergistically associates the energy of your shopping with that of your home” continues Corti.

To complete the energy saving offer there is Value Turn on: this is the proposal, at a price reserved for customers, of condensing boilers from the Ingrado service; of Enerhub e-mobility columns, the company 40% owned by Alleanza luce & gas which promotes ecological mobility, for members who have an electric car; and Linear insurance to protect electricity and gas systems from breakdowns.

Also in 2024, Alleanza luce e gas confirms its omnichannel sales model, thanks to which each sales channel – Coop sales point, telephone, website – is a touch point in the customer’s purchasing experience who decides autonomously where sign the contract.

To make this commitment increasingly concrete, during 2023 the company further strengthened the Customer care department, which went from 15 to 30 resources. People who are all direct employees of Alleanza luce & gas, prepared thanks to a coaching service including 60 hours of training per month and an enhancement of the after-sales service at the point of sale, managed by Accendi luce & gas consultants.
