VENAFRO – The Sardinia Parabadminton Tournament took place over the past weekend. In the setting of Calangianus there was the competitive baptism for the paraathlete Gianfranco Iaconelliregistered with the ASD ASAM of Isernia.
The athlete, who lives in Venafro and trains in Isernia under the guidance of coach Carmine Iacovella, was prepared by the company down to the smallest details in view of the event, winning the gold medal!
First there was the classification that decreed the eligibility of the Venafran in the SU5 category.
So the match which after a calm first set ended 21 to 16 for Gianfranco; after the break, after returning to the court, the opponent changed game tactics and managed to win the second set 25 to 23. In the third set everything was decided, Gianfranco, down by six points, regained possession of the game and managed to score precious points which first led to a draw and then allowed them to overtake and win 21-19.
“I don’t deny that the emotion for the match was high – Iaconelli’s words – but then a rationality in managing the game prevailed which allowed me to win the match”.
The sports management is satisfied: “a positive signal has certainly been given, we are working well; we will continue in this direction to grow because the ambitions of the athlete, coach and club are projected towards great results.” Congratulations also came from the President of CIP Molise Donatella Perrella.
