Lusia, from Tari to Tarip, an information meeting with Ecoambiente to clarify

LUSIA (Rovigo) – A meeting that clarified the new methods of managing the door-to-door separate waste collection service which, from 1 January this year, will Lusia, is in charge of Ecoenvironment and no longer to the Municipality.

It was the Environment Councilor himself Elisa Poli to organize the information evening on Monday evening, which was held in the parish theatre, on a topic that needed to offer citizens clarifications and clarifications regarding not only the change in habits on the part of families who will now have to become more virtuous in differentiating household waste, but also on the new single punctual tariff that will be found on the bill.

The event, which was well attended, was introduced not only by councilor Poli, but also by the mayor of Lusia Luca Prando, who explained how it was the Municipalities that approved the Ecoambiente industrial plan and that some indications have come from the territories to perfect a service that is now paid for by everyone equally and which is proving to be virtuous, “hoping – he suggested – for shock absorbers for families in difficulty”.

The CEO of Ecoambiente Adriano Tolomei, illustrated the change from Tari to Tarip, highlighting how the choice to apply a single punctual tariff was dictated by the need to have “a system of equity and compliance across the entire provincial territory”. We have developed a thirty-year industrial plan approved by the Basin Council, participated by all 50 Municipalities, with the aim of reducing the impact of dry waste, reaching 80 kg per inhabitant per year. The Region also requires us to separate 80% of waste by 2024 and 85% by 2030. , In the 21 Municipalities in which the new punctual tariff system – Tarip was introduced last year, i.e. Rovigo and l ‘Altopolesine, an average of 83% was achieved. So with this new collection system we can do it and the citizens have demonstrated collaboration and responsibility.”

The substantial change, compared to the municipal Tari, is that the new tariff does not take into account the square meters of surface area of the home but only by the number of members of the family unit, following the logic of rewarding those who differentiate best. The company has set a minimum number of waste emptyings based on the number of people occupying the home, with a rate increase if the established number of waste container emptyings is exceeded. The advice is therefore to have the waste collected in the dry waste bin when it is completely full to avoid an increase in the bill and a waste of the collection service. “The law requires us to cover the total costs, in an area with low population intensity with many long journeys which unfortunately inevitably have an impact. – the director of Ecoambiente spoke Walter Giacetti –. Despite this, our goal is to keep the tariff stable over time.” For the separate waste collection service, the user will be able to decide whether to add the green bin contribution, which we remind you is 35 euros per year or to activate home composting, which will lead to a discount on the bill.

“Lusia, unlike other municipalities, has not chosen to use other services offered by the company, such as emptying bins in parks or street sweeping and leaf collection – remarked Mayor Prando – so as not to incur additional costs on bills. The municipal administration provides these services with its own funds.”

The audience present was very interested and asked questions, including the risk of waste being abandoned in a wild manner. “Every week, especially on the Adige, we collect a truckload of waste – he admitted – a phenomenon that we must combat with the cameras and the collaboration and reporting of all of you”. To accommodate citizens and to allow them time to inform themselves and get used to the change, Ecoambiente has decided to start counting the Tarip starting from 1 April, leaving the first three months free.
