The nursery has always played an important role in the home Lazio. Furthermore, the quality of the work carried out by the Capitoline club over the years has allowed it to win titles at both a national and regional level. Therefore, in anticipation not only for the next season, but, above all, in view of the years to come, the Biancoceleste partnership, under the watchful eye of Giorgio Regnihas already started internships to find interesting young people, especially as regards pink futsal.

The women’s open day held last May 22nd – open to girls born between 2006 and 2012 – was a success for you in terms of participation. What feelings did you get from this first evening?

Giorgio Regni: “The first open day was a success – begins the technical director of the Lazio team –, we had a larger number than expected. Being the first time that the company has opened its doors to the lower categories, we can only be satisfied. We have the positive feeling that next year we will not only be protagonists in the national Under 19, but we will be able to make our Biancocelesti shirts also appear on pitches in other categories.”

Behind every good society there is often a beautiful cantera. Are there the conditions to continue growing in a historic club that, over the years, has collected title after title at youth level?

GR: “Lazio and its management – explains the coach – they have always shown great attention to promising young players. Suffice it to mention two names above all: Alessia Grieco and Cecilia Barca. For more recent evidence, just think that, in this season that has just ended, out of fifteen Under 19 players, twelve were called up for at least one match in Serie A, and some of them were among the starters. Furthermore, having a class of 2008 like Nicole Selis debut in the playoffs is a strong signal. Therefore, the conditions for the youth sector to grow from year to year are all there.”

The next open day will take place on Monday 3 June, what can you tell us about it?

GR: “I confirm that Monday 3 June – says the trainer –, at 6 pm, we will repeat the open day experience to see new athletes, but, above all, to introduce them and their parents to the Lazio project. The synergy we have with the Palmarola company was an excellent launching pad. Finally, the women’s youth sector of Lazio five-a-side football will have a home and a clear area. The Northern Rome area will be covered and will act as a point of reference for all the young people who want to wear the white and blue shirt and embark on a growth path with us. I remember that even at Cisco Collatino, at the parent company, we already have a group of very young girls who attend the club’s football school.”
