In front of the Partenope pizzeria in Fuorigrotta, leave a farewell note and flowers for the owner, Alfredo Nocerino, found lifeless on Monday.

Hello, Alfredo. We love you“. A few words, written on a sheet of paper attached with adhesive tape to the shutter. Below, on the planters, a bouquet of flowers. A last farewell with which someone, perhaps a resident of the area, wanted to greet Alfredo Nocerino, owner of the Partenopea pizzeria in viale Kennedy, in Fuorigrotta. The man’s body was found on May 20, he was in a car, in his garage in I Traversa Fossa del Lupo, in the Kennedy district of Secondigliano: he apparently committed suicide with exhaust fumes.

Terrible, heartbreaking story, that of this 60-year-old, who on Monday decided to take his own life, probably destroyed by the tragedy that had struck him in March: he was the father of Vincenzo Nocerino, the young man who died together with his girlfriend, the Iranian student Vida Shahvalad. He was the one who found the bodies, even those in the car and in the same garage. That time it had been an accident: the two young people, returning from a party, had stopped in the narrow and unventilated room to spend some time together and had left the car running, probably to use the heating ; carbon monoxide would have saturated the environment, causing them to go from sleep to death.

He had raised that boy, Alfredo, alone. He had separated from his wife several years ago and since then he had taken care of all the needs of Enzo, who divided his time between his work as a web designer and a few evenings at the pizzeria helping his father. And Vida, for Alfredo, had become one of the family, he had welcomed her into the house like a daughter. So much so that, in the aftermath of the tragedy, despite being destroyed by pain, he had found the strength to defend the girl’s memory from some allegations that had been made in her country of origin about her morality, making it clear that between her and the son there was a serious and stable relationship.
