At least 10 people were killed and 60 injured in a chemical factory explosion in western India. 24 hours after the accident, many are still missing, according to local media reports.
The death toll from the blast in Maharashtra’s Thane district rose to 10 with the discovery of three more bodies at the crash site this morning, while around 64 people were injured. This is what police sources told the Indian newspaper The Hindu.

The accident occurred yesterday at 1.30pm local time (6.40am Italian time) when a boiler in a chemical factory exploded, causing the deformation of heavy iron beams and the detachment of adjacent roofs. The explosion also caused serious damage to
nearby houses. The impact of the explosion, heard a kilometer away, he sent
the windows of the nearest houses shattered and the flames spread to two other buildings, including a car showroom. Meanwhile, the police are investigating the owners of the plant for manslaughter. According to the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the factory produced food dyes and used peroxides, chemicals that are highly unstable under certain conditions.
