Polytechnic, children’s university: graduation ceremony yesterday

The event represented the culmination of a university course tailor-made for children, promoted by the Lecco Territorial Center and made possible thanks to the contribution of the Cariplo Foundation and the support of the Lecco Rotary Club. The training course included five workshops focused on the theme of the sustainable city, exploring topics such as environment, energy, mobility and inclusion. From enrollment to payment of fees in Polisoldi, the children lived a unique experience that brought them closer to the world of science and technology, showing them how university can be a place accessible to all, thus promoting a sense of citizenship responsible.

During the ceremony, the young graduates shone like true experts, discussing their degree theses in front of the degree commission and presenting the posters created during the workshops. Wearing T-shirts with the Polis logo, they proudly received their graduation scroll from the hands of Manuela Grecchivice-rector of the territorial center of Lecco, who wore the official robe for the occasion.

The vice-rector: “An emotional ceremony”

“It was an exciting ceremony – declared the vice-rector – We ‘graduated’ 96 responsible citizens, young ambassadors of good practices for the city of the future. Sustainability is a theme of crucial importance, and we tried to convey to the children the importance of critically reflecting on our daily actions, promoting a better, livable and accessible world”.

“The proposed workshops – continued the vice-rector – aim to develop greater confidence and a positive aspiration for the personal and professional future of our young people. The works presented by the children demonstrate that the proposed themes have been internalized and explored in a creative way. I therefore express gratitude to the teachers of the schools involved, to Fondazione Cariplo and Rotary Club Lecco, who believed in the educational value of the project and made this adventure possible”.
