ROME – Serious issues were addressed today by the representatives of Italian football in the hearing at the VII Senate commission on the state of the movement. Yet there was room for a nice little scene between Claudio Lotito and Aurelio De Laurentiistwo of the many Serie A managers present.
Lotito-De Laurentiis, curtain call in the Senate
Immediately after the intervention of De Laurentiis, president of Napoli who launched a appeal for the return to an 18-team Serie A, the word was passed to Maurizio Setti alongside whom Lotito, senator as well as Lazio’s top manager, was sitting. And just as the president of Verona was arguing his theses the Lazio number one seemed to fall asleep, so much so that De Laurentiis called him back to ‘wake him up’. Lotito’s reaction was surprising, as he immediately reacted by demonstrating that he was awake and explaining with gestures that he was concentrated on Setti’s words, and then closed his eyes again with a yawn ‘masked’ with a small cough.
