VITERBO – She managed to escape, but was then identified by the Carabinieri, who reported a 34-year-old foreign woman, while at liberty, for the theft of a gold necklace.
The events occurred in Viterbo, where a local lady was approached by a woman who, distracting her with the pretext of asking for information, with a sudden gesture tore a gold necklace from her neck, immediately fled on foot and reached a car with the accomplice on board.
The victim, after an initial loss, contacted 112 and provided the crew of the Viterbo Operations and Radiomobile Unit with the first important data on the woman and the car. After immediate searches, spread across the entire Province, a patrol from the Radiomobile Unit of the Ronciglione Company traveled the roads to and from Viterbo and, along the Cassia towards Rome, noticed a car similar to the one reported: on board a couple with a child, adults matching the description.
Further investigations supported by the victim’s complaint were carried out with colleagues from Viterbo, establishing the presence of the couple in the city of Viterbo, who did not provide details on their movements during the identification phase.
The alleged perpetrator was reported for theft by snatching.
